50 boats fished the Esquimalt Anglers' Association annual salmon derby today under
blustery conditions and gale force winds after noon. A total of 14 salmon were
entered by final weigh-in time of 2:00 PM. All were chinook - no sockeye, coho
or pinks caught.
1st. Peter Willing 21 lb 10 oz $300
2nd. Kevin Cotten 20 lb 4 oz $200
3rd. Brian Richordson 18 lb 11 oz $100
The EAA Raffle Draw was held at the conclusion of the derby today. Proceeds are
directed toward salmon enhancement and stream monitoring.
1st. draw Ryan Kesler 2010 Vancouver Canucks hockey shirt signed by all team
members - won by Dan McQuary
2nd. draw Gary Bromley's 1981 Vancouver Canucks goalie stick signed by 1980/
1981 team members - won by Elsa Elphick
