Cutwater 28 VS Ranger Tug 27 or Alternatives or Bigger?

That was the reason I went with the Commander when I did. Figured I'd never be towinh it anyway.
Bit off topic here RC (sorry Kael) but was fishing on the weekend in a 33 Grady White Express. Very nice fishing platform.
However had twin 300HP mercs burning 30.5 GPH at 27 knots. I burn 14 GPH diesel at 28 knots on my Commander.
RC if you podded you would need twin 300 or 350HP. So trip to Sandheads and back is 90 minutes? 45 gallons of fuel or one barrel.
How much is gas on the water right now? $2.25 or more? Almost $500 for a trip. Its tough enough burning 14.

Kael if you can find a Commander 26 with single diesel would be a good boat for the money.

I do like the idea of 26 commander for me and my friend who is looking but it doesn't have the sleeping space of the 30 commander and the beam kills the trailer-ability of the 30. Sleeping 5 in the 26 is a challenge unless there is a full enclosure for the stern.

Nice, there are lots of Commanders for sale right now thanks to RC! Joking. The "27" commander for sale looks intriguing. It checks a lot of boxes but add a trailer, rear steering station/kicker and you are at 200k. The broker doesn't make it easy to sell with a top speed of 10kn listed(error underspecifications I'm sure with 270hp) https://www.yachtworld.com/yacht/2017-commander-27-8992420/

This 26 is pretty dam good, with the "new" leg. But once again, you have to add on and add on to get it ready and you still have some pretty old power and sleeps 4ish? https://www.yachtworld.com/yacht/2000-commander-26-4319475/
