Crabbing in Howe sound

that closure refers to clams mussels and oysters, all bi-valves. it is not for crab, this closure is also for all of indian arm and burrard inlet, I live right on the maplewood mud flats and the commercial crab guy fishes right in front of my house, and is doing so as i type. you should be fine with your crab. there has been traces of mercury found in crab in upper howe sound but is in the innards and not the meat, crab have about the most intricate filtering system of all seafood. if i remember correctly there was a notice about the mercury a few years back. I always clean my crab before i cook it regardless.

cheers nicnat
