Cost to strip and paint a boat?

I'm wondering what kind of cost one might expect to have a 26' boat stripped and gel coated by a professional shop?

I imagine it would get pretty pricey but thinking of biting the bullet.

Any ideas?

Not many shops would be inclined to re-gelcoat,they would most likely fill, sand, prime and paint with a quality paint.Awlgrip,Endura etc..If your just doing the hull from shear to waterline,it shouldn't be too much(relatively) compared to a full deck, cabin, hull and bottom that will be very expensive. It's a lot of work.If you just have a few scratches, holes to fill etc. you can have the gelcoat matched and and repaired at reasonable cost.I can't give you hard numbers though.
