Cruising through Pat Bay Area and came across this. Approx 7 ft long.
At first thought it was a RC plane so we checked it out.
Called the number on it and found it to be a UVic research module of some sort. Collects info then surfaces to transmit.
Pretty cool.

Could be converted into a "bird"......and used for fishing surface Giant Tuna (if you're ever fishing off North Carolina........).......

I remember my cousin building one of those when he did his mechanical engeneering at UVic.

Would make a cool cannon ball. Put a downrigger clip on each wing tip and send her down. Would look cool in green and glow.
What did you do with it?

After calling it in (seemed kinda dangerous floating around out there waiting to be run over), we were told to just let it go. It was perfectly balanced with zero buoyancy so when I pushed it off it just slowly submerged and went on its way. Looked like a little submarine.
Had a folding prop on it that looked like it would open up when prop turned.
