Conservative Majority Government

Proud Canadian my a$$! I am ashamed that we could not show Duncan how democracy works and that his total ignorance did not cost the ultimate political price. Watch and cheer when you see hatcheries getting dismantled, fish farms expanding and the sportfishing sector getting the boot. But of course, they will be soooo good for our local economy! Yeah right, 6 more fish farming slaves replacing everyone employed by the sportfishing industry. Canadians had their priorities I guess. Little lives could not look over the rim to see the bigger picture. Very sad indeed. I think I am done with my support for anything I thought was worth fighting for. I lost faith in us Canadians. We sadly only truly care for hockey gold. May we suffocate on it.

Not going to disagree with your view point calmsea, or you concerns. But no matter what, I'm still proud to be Canadian. We could be living in some shiat hole country where the concept of fishing, or voting , doesn't even exist, where your kids could be prostitutes at 12 or terrorists, and where all there is to eat is goat's milk and sand.

You're right, it's a shame that we couldn't knock Duncan out of the race, or that the Con's have cartblanche to do as they please now. But the fact remains that the people voted, and this is what the majority wanted. No-one said the majority was right. And now we all get to live with their decision for the next 4 years.

As for standing together as proud Canadians and sharing a drink, well that comment was directed mostly towards the great people on this site. We're all united here in our beliefs regarding the problems faced by WC fisheries, and I don't believe that there's anyone here that would hold a grudge against anything anyone has said regardless of political leanings. I get the feeling we're all bigger than that. Heck, if that were the case Holmes would have stopped posting just based on the beatings he took on the Canucks/Blackhawks threads!

I'd also like to point out that nowhere in my post did I say that I LIKED what happened. Only that we need to work with the cards we've been dealt and renew the fights.

I guess the only other thing I'm going to say is that I'm happy to live here, even blessed. And I get to live in a country where my government is not a reflection of me, and I'm not persecuted or killed because of it.

why the heck would ya want to do that?, quebec is one of the places that makes our country such a diverse and beautiful place to live, i love quebec, especially quebec city, its like being in a european city but within our own country, plus the province is a beautiful place to visit, montreal has some of the nicest ppl in this whole country, not to mention thats where the HABS reside, lol, take out the asstario vote and the cons dont have a majority.....holmes*

Except for that inconvenient little urge to "sepperate" every 20 years..

I was anti-conservative during the campaign, but now that a majority government has formed - the people have spoken, so I say let's see what he can do. I hope my fears were misguided. Now, back to fishing!

Very hard for some of us old timers to love Quebec. We remember what young ones have not been taught and others do not want to talk about, that regarding the two great wars and how Quebecers had to be mostly conscripted (drafted for those not familiar with the word) to fight for this country and the free world while the rest of us rushed to volunteer.
Liberal types have been trying to sanitize this truth for years now. That said, the Van Doos have been a fine regiment and a tiny exception population wise.

I lived in gatineau for 2 years while working in ottawa. I have a bad taste of in my mouth after that...

And how can i count out there vote? Have you seen some of the ndps they voted in?

4 mc gill students
1 19 year old
1 that was in las vegas for the majority of the campaign (in gatineau). And didnt make it to one all candidates meeting and did 0 campaigning.

I have no clue what happened in that country during the vote(yes i refer to it as its own country) but i cant figure out why they did what they did.

Like all places they have some good people, however the good people and beautiful women are out weighed 5000-1 by the arrogant seperatist/socialist quebecer!

saying take out the ontario vote doesnt make any sense. That is where the biggest population of people in our country are. If anything that would be the biggest factor of any group of ridings

X3..lived in the ontario armpit for a year and travelled around there all the time. Never met anyone that was not willing to help, and I could not speak french!

Live in Ottawa during school year, and if you go deeper into quebec i find they can be pretty damn rude if you don't speak french...in quebec city they refused to serve us unless we spoke french to them...so i butchered their effing language and failed so just got my french buddy to order for me.
