Is there any difference in a 8 inch flasher compared to the larger ones?
Thanks

They work just as well if you're using it to give action to a hootchie then shorten the leader is all.

Spoons, given their shape, provide their own action so can be fished further back from the flasher. The only action a hootchie gets is from the motion of the flasher so you can't go too far back.

A heavier leader will also give hootchies more action 40-50lb

One of my most successful rigs for coho is with an 8 inch flasher. When the water is clear in Sept in Barkley Sound, I often use a small 8 inch Gibbs blue stripe flasher. I rig a blue and white hoochie with a 22 inch leader behind the blue flasher. This rig often out fishes all my other offerings for Coho on the westcoast. I've had limited success with the 8 inch flashers for springs. However, I do not use them as often when fishing for springs.
