17.2 double eagle prop selection

I know there's a handful of guys on here who own or have owned this hull so there must be some hull/ power specific prop advice. Believe stizzla sold this combo recently.

Hull powered by 2018 115 yam that the dealer put on the generic 13.25x 17 3 blade aluminum. 17p seems to be the default gtfo of my shop prop.

With 2 guys and 80% fuel it hit 6400 in flat water today for a couple seconds. Thought it would hit a retarder at 63 but it crept up to 64.

I know it's over propped. The obvious is to go up to the 13.25x19 which will bring the revs down 300 rpm.

Has anyone played with a 4 blade or found a better option? Don't care about top end speed. Just interested in cruise rpm in the 4000-4500 range. At the moment the boat cruises at 26mph at 4400rpm using 4.5gph.

I'll add: I'm shocked at how loud that 115 is at cruise. The 90 suzuki I just sent to my neighbor is significantly quieter. I'm hoping the prop change and reduced revs will drop the decibels.

Also, I'd like to stay aluminum. I beach this boat regularly so Aluminum is my friend. Don't see the advantage to stainless in a small rig anyhow.

1999-185 Double Eagle, 2013 115yam. I run a 13x19. Burn about 5gph@25mph. Think I’m around 6000rpm. I lost a few mph with the 13.25x17. Let me know if you want to borrow my 13x19 aluminum prop to test.

I think I was running a 13x19 pitch stainless. Tried a 4 blade and didn’t like it. I’m a top speed guy.

Ya. I preferred the top end. I run trim tabs too. I’d love a stainless but they’re probably over a grand easy. Most times I’m probably between 3800-4300rpm anyways if the conditions are a little chunky. Sometimes I’ll go full @ILHG and rip home at 5400 on the tach for a thrill.

Bought the 19p aluminum from yamaha. Dropped it on there and dipped it yesterday. Picked up 3-4mph at WOT which is now 6100. Cruise rpm dropped 300rpm and mpg between 23-28mph is over 6.

I beach the boat. I didn't want a stainless prop. There's so much debris around courtenay too.
