I fished the Sandheads 8:30 to 4. Hit a decent one at 10:30 in the shallows amongst the crab traps, I lost control of the boat a bit trying to keep him on the one side and dealing with the traps. Fish got slack while i was trying to right the ship. Circled back in and got his little brother a 10ish red 15 minutes later. Never could get that third one.

Fished the nite bite from 2:30-6:30. Missed a pin popper, lost one, and released a nice wild coho. Didn't see any other caught.

F the Cap!!! Been down at Sandheads since 2 and it has been on fire....6 for 8 on bites...mostly off the ledge in 200-350 west of the Green. 1 bonus 7 pound hatch Ho too. Had my season's first triple header on Chinooks in Van a half hour in. 1 fish every 20mjns since then. Largest is 21 pounds...15 the smallest. Whites are in. Saw a guide I know next door taking pics of his guests 35....

Fire up the bbq!!!

35 45 and 55 feet have been excellent and the are fewer seals out a little deeper where we are. Headed for the dock in 30... Looking for one more to Get Sean's second Chinook.

Get out here if you can.

Now that's a fishing report. Glad you found them today. Triple header, way to go.

Been out since 2:30, haven't had the same experience as you, either has the boats I've seen.
Is this the Sandheads magical fire pocket I've been hearing about lately because I haven't seen any nets out.

Apparently there's a Bermuda triangle for the springs off Sandheads. They arrive there, but never seem to make it up river for some reason. :)

Are you using the MX5000? Without that lure you can't catch fish at Sandheads.

Wish I could say we had the same experience at Sandheads - ran 4 lines from 8am thru 3pm and raked the area from the 80' line out to 300'. Anchovies on one side with a spoon and hoochie on the other. Primary depths were 33' thru 63' but we ran as deep as 90' at times chasing marks on the sounder. Caught and released a sockeye on an anchovy. Hooked a nice chinnok on a green splatter back hoochie - line peeling out for about 90 seconds and then grabbed by a large seal and ripped apart. That was all the activity we had. We saw one other boat with a fish. The few people we spoke to as we trolled by seemed to have very little action as well. Great water conditions though. We'll give it another go tommorrow and see if we can find the secret ingredient.
