O-FISH-ALL 2014 Vancouver, Howe Sound, Sunshine Coast Reports Thread!

What a great day on the south arm. Just wished the fishing was better only managed to bag 2 Sockeyes today. Going for the morning bite instead of the evening.

great day out there again today......easy limits with three guys......fish as a whole seem to be getting a little bigger.......good times at the #2 rd boat launch., gong show, should be a reality tv show, i cant believe what goes on there every time i yank my boat.

Yes another great couple days on the water. Limits yesterday and today. Bonus was this Red Spring taken late this afternoon on Sock gear. Actually lost one just before after it straightened out a snap swivel!image.jpg

Got out the last 2 mornings at the north arm. Yesterday on a
Forum members boat. We fished 7-12 30 and got our limit.
5 pretty quick and then the 10 am lull for 2 hrs and then it turned on again
Took a bud out on my ride this morning and got our 8 by 10 .
Fishing 4 rods both days. Dummies yesterday. All fish 40-80 ft

Super slow at north arm from 5-dark tonight. Not a single hit for my boat in over 3hrs of fishing. Only saw one fish caught during that time as well so clearly there was no bite in that area. Sounds like other were able to find fish elsewhere.

Wow! Nice work, beauty fish! Were you at the south arm? I will be out Saturday bright and early north arm to T-10. It will be crazy out there with everyone plus the derby!

Please tell me the guy starting his motor when it was out of the water, twice!, was there again, still the best yet!!!

Haha some good laughs at Iona to , Guy getting his boat out of the water and his buddy sitting in the boat on the way out of the water with the motor running all the way to the top of the ramp and past ,i tried yelling but the motor was to loud .

Finally was able to get out early yesterday to the North Arm, got tired of the afternoon doldrums and watching fish just jumping around us and not biting.
Bite started at 9am and lasted a full hour, got our 8 and headed home by 11.
75-85 feet seemed to be optimal depth yesterday.
Got a tip from a old commercial fisherman to use a full sized pink octopus hootchie, appeared to out fish the smaller gear.

Something like the guy at the No 2 road ramp, in the water in his gotch, fixing his engine at the ramp and wondering why everyone is pissed with him ....... WHEN DO YOU KNOW YOUR A REDNECK !

Need a separate thread for this

LOVE the Albemarle, what a super sweet ride!!!!
You don't see many of those boats here....I've fished on a 25 Carolina Classic and it is an awesome platform...

Cheers

Nice day at the north arm with the wife and our neighbours. Started with a quick at 3 fish in 20 minutes. Nice to bring some fish home after a couple of fruitless afternoon efforts. Fished from 7-1 with our last fish boxed six sox, two 13lb springs. Pink with glow head and stripe mini worked for us 24" leaders 100-300'. Get out there and go early.

That's a whole lot of Chrome! So jealous. Engine problems with my kicker on my " new to me boat " has kept me off the chuck this yr...

Fished 8-9 am North arm 50-55 feet a lot higher up right out the arm in 250 -300' of water .... lol 3 double headers in 30 min i was done fast and furious . it's a lot thicker out there with fish hope the eve starts to light up to .

Cheers!

We're coming to you live from the sand heads. Got out here 1:00 and was fast and furious with 6 fish on landed tree and now it's quieted down a little. two foot chop 15 knot swi wnds doable for sure. Few showers but nothing serious

I was out with my 10 year old son this morning at north arm. First morning outing for us this year. Lines in around 7am and fished in about 300 ft of water at 53-66ft. 4 rods and dummy's on each side. Dummy's on cannonball back 50". Clips up 7 feet for bottom rods and clipped on only 5-6' from flasher. Top rods clipped on another 9' up. No tangles which was good as not used to cramming the gear so close together.

Any tips to improve this setup?

We lost our share but found a school and left at 9.30 with 8. Glow green flashers did better than the silver pink/red flasher in the dirty water.

The only other time I was out solo on last Wednesday. Fished 12-2.30 nth arm and very quiet thru the low tide. Seemed like there we few fish around. Nothing for me and only saw a couple caught that day. Feast or famine! But worth getting up early for the reliable morning bite. Especially with high tide during that time I think. May coax the rest of the family out tomorrow with the masses. Plenty of room this morning for more boats. 'Twas a great big sea this am.
