nice we were at thrasher there yesterday for a hour but just one under so we moved to porlier and got 8 unders no keepers but still a beauty day on the water
Yeah, we had lots of unders but the bigger fish came later in the day, after 5.

Took a few kids out yesterday and trolled around the Bell / QA for a few hours. Pretty nice weather / sea conditions although it was a strong ebb. 1 just under right away and then we washed our gear for the next 3 hours. The kids were quite disappointed in my fishing ability ... although I got them back in my good books with the hot dogs for lunch.

I wanted to burn some gas so I shot across for one last go with 2 spots left on my license… 4 hrs at Entrance last night 3 hrs at Thrasher this morning, nada. Looked like no action for the handful of other boats either. Stayed in Silva Bay overnight, what a nice little cove that is.

Went over to Thrasher Monday through Wednesday and had a blast. Fished 3 hours Monday afternoon and 3 Tuesday mid day, brought 32 fish to the boat for 4 keepers. Lots of healthy just unders. Great way to wrap up 2023 winter fishing, got pretty windy on Wednesday so we didn’t fish, just waited for it to lay down for the crossing back. Time to catch up on the boat list now.

So you took them all… 😭

Spent an hour yesterday after sampling wetting a line on the contours between White Islets and Wilson Creek from 12:15 to 1:15.

Started in 135’ and found 3 rock fish. Ducked out deeper and at 180’ - 220’ found great bait balls and 3 undersized salmon and this wild keeper.

Taped out at 65cm and had a belly full of herring. Action was really consistent even with the lowered visibility because of the plankton bloom.

What will the new license year bring? 2022-23 was pretty terrific.

Must have been some late breaking scientific data that came in, no Howe Sound MSF starting tomorrow.
FN0330 and FN0331 came in email this morning. They both had this:

"As these are interim measures, a further announcement on possible revised management actions, including any new mark-selective fisheries (MSFs) that may be approved, will be announced in a subsequent fishery notice".

That is what I recall seeing along the way, a subsequent fishery notice delivered after April 1st.

On another note, a guy on the Vancouver salmon site on Facebook crushed it at Grace yesterday. Tunstall was dead so they made the move and had a dream day.
