Some great work by the Field Supervisor Eric Jean of our Squamish DFO office to get Navionics to update the Sponge Reef Marine Refuge areas. Please see below and how to download an update. I am also happy to report that patrols are still taking place by the Squamish office during this Covid-19 crisis.

Good Morning,

I have been in contact with Navionics over the last couple of months attempting to have their cartography department update their maps to include the Sponge Reef Marine Refuges implemented last April. I received confirmation this morning that they have now been made available through a downloadable update. This was found to be an issue for stakeholders exclusively utilizing these maps for reference when fishing.

Please share with your internal and external networks as you see fit.

Best,

Eric Jean
