Yamaha f150 owners beware

Just had a 2012 f150 come into our shop last week, and it cooked just over 400hrs the balance shaft gear fails and takes out the whole motor plugging oil passages etc. apparently it's a known problem maybe most of you know about it or maybe you don't thought id put it out there.

I believe it's the f150A model had the issue the B model is ok

This has been a known issue since 2004ish
First thing I did when I bought mine at 600hrs was to pull it down and replace
I think they are on their 3rd or 4th update of the parts now

Mine have been amazing, twin 2006's with 3000 hours. Minor maintenance issues over the years but pretty much trouble free
