Drifted in a "Skookum Steelheader" a couple weeks ago up in PA.
triple staged pulley system that moved a 50lb chunk of lead like nothing was there. It was scary. Go as heavy as you can find and design your system around it. You won't regret it. I fish alot of seam and pockets and stop right in the thick of the flow. Not too many guys are able to really stick and stay in the froth putting down 40lbs of lead.
Thanks for the info HL. If i can't stick with 40#-45# then i probably shouldn't be anchoring in that spot. Most guys i drift with, don't go higher than 45#-50#, so we will stick to what we know and are comfortable with. Thanks for the info FD.
I hear yah. Go with what you know for sure. I just keep pushing the envelope I guess. Been finding steelhead in the craziest places the last couple years.
