The following area is now declared an infected area for whirling disease (infection with Myxobolus cerebralis): Johnson Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta. The rest of Canada currently remains free of this aquatic animal disease. To view a map of this area and the requirements for a domestic movement permit to move susceptible species of finfish from infected areas to free areas of Canada, please visit the Aquatic Animal Domestic Movements web page:
