Which snaps or fasteners to use for boat cover

What style of snaps would you recommend for a new boat cover? I'm looking at JT's outdoor fabrics website and there's a bunch of different options. Any suggestions? Cheers

my experience with both is to use snaps in high traffic areas and down low . The SS twist and lock fasteners are better than the post and push type. Just think about clothing and shoelace snags with the fasteners

Thanks guys. Im looking at Loxx fasteners and wondering if anyone has any experience with them? are they worth the premium over DOT snaps. I have found the DOT snaps to be a pain in the butt due to corrosion, i wonder if loxx are any better.

SS DOT snaps are as good, only if you apply the snap lube to them twice a year. I would save the extra $$ and make sure that lubing the zippers and snaps is part of my routine maintenance, esp. if storing the boat close to the chuck. Have been doing it for the last 5 years with absolutely zero corrosion issues.

For a sport fishing boat I like the lower profile fasteners. I like the flatter snap type as you are less likely to hang up the net on them just as you are about to net a large Chinook. Use a little silicon grease on them and replace as needed as the part on the boat does wear out over time We have to replace the odd one and it is easy. Drill out the factory rivet and screw in a new one.

Thanks BCR, ill have to try out the snap lube. I was just using WD40 but it didnt last long at all.
Thanks Rockfish, good point on the low profile. It would suck pretty bad to get the net hung up on one of those loxx studs.
I guess ill just stick with the SS DOT style snaps. Cheers
