What Action Camera do you like?

I've been learning about GoPro cameras the last couple of days. Obviously a quality item when referring in the hero black in 5,6 or 7.
The price is a little high for my liking. New 7s are over $600 and used 5’s are $250 and up.

Is anybody finding another brand to be good?
I know that my year to get out more and catch some beauties is just around the corner. I want to have it on video to show you all!

Homedepot had a sports camera that was a GoPro knockoff for $58 just before xmas. I'm sure the quality is not as good, but, hey you could burn 4 of them for what I paid for my GoPro 4 years ago.

This one seems intriguing... look at the reviews. 4.5* with over 2000 ratings. I read a few pages and they all say it’s great but the batteries don’t last long. But one said other batteries are compatible too, so even if I drop $50 on batteries I’m under $150 and have 4K, lots of accessories 4 batteries etc.488D6099-D841-4F72-8FE0-EB83784C6A5E.jpeg

I hardwired and mounted my GoPro onto the underside of my cabin pointing to the deck and used one of these battery replacement devices. All the batteries burn out way too quick. Hardwired its awesome. Never worry about swapping out batteries which is a pain in the gluteus Maximus. My batteries always burned out just as I was about to land a Tyee. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it....

I like my DJI Mavic Pro and Phantom 3 Std ..... They are have 4k camera attached and are excellent for still or Action. My GoPros now have extensive down times, but were my go to for
many years lol

You don't need to buy one of those cables for a Pro3. Any generic mini usb cable plugged into the usb port of the Pro3 camera does the same - regardless if there is battery in the camera or not. I have been using my pro3 like this since it was released years ago with no problem and I like the fact that if there is a battery in the camera, it gets charged at the same time.

What amp 2.5, 3.1 or 5 ???
A good charger would provide you with at least 2.1 Amps (or 2100 mA) per USB port. This is so that you can also charge your Android tablets and iPads at their optimal speed since smartphones usually only require 1.0 Amps (or 1000 mA). So if you’re looking for the highest performing dual USB car charger, you want to look for a 4.8A USB car charger. This means that each USB port provides 2.4 Amps, which is more than sufficient to charge two iPads simultaneously. On the other hand, if the Amp output per USB port is below 2.1 Amps per USB port, the charger would do well charging two smartphones, but not as much with two tablets.

Also anyone looking for this purchase it on the USA site of amazon all in 38 bucks can, on the Amazon cdn site its 95 bucks ... WTF we get ripped off

Like I already mentioned above. You don't need that cable. For the Pro3, any generic mini usb cable ( <$10.00) works - just plug it into the camera usb port.

The gopro has a USB port (upper left port below) and that is where the usb cable plugs in.

It has been so long, but I I think the camera came with the cable? Before ordering, check around as you already have an older cable from a phone, camera etc that will work.
Straight cable

There are also left or right angle cables if you prefer.
