I’m curious as to what others are getting for top end speed. Always felt my boat should be a little faster then it is

could people post up boat, length, hp /engine. max mph, and prop/pitch they’re using?

Wellcraft v-20, 20’6” merc 350mag 300hp 17” mirage plus. I get 44mph under ideal conditions

RPM is important too.

26' Hourston Island Runner
VP 320hp GXi with a VP DPS drive & F3 stainless duo props
4,600 RPM's & 39 knots

That's plenty fast for me with this hull, and I like junk that goes fast.

I can't imagine what a floating 30' condo at 38 MPH is like!

22' Hewescraft Ocean Pro, soft top. (3500 lbs I believe)
135 hp Honda
5,000 rpm is about 26 knots / 30 mph
Can't quite remember the prop pitch, but it's an aluminum prop.

Usually cruise at 24 mph. I find myself swerving for sticks and logs at the last minute fairly often. Not sure how I could respond in time if I was going much faster, but I'd like to try! Wish I had a 200 hp instead

Podded 26 ft Hourston center console with twin 150 hp Merc 4 strokes with re worked stainless props

Top speed of 47 knots on the GPS @ 6200 rpm...........only done this rpm once

24.5' defiance san juan 220, 200hp suzuki, 4500 rpm @24 knots (cruising speed @ 30 liters per hour),

6100 rpm 35 knots (wot @ 68 liters per hour)

Hewes OceanPro220 with Yam 3.3l 200hp
cruise 4300 at about 24-26 knots (~35-39 lph)
WOT at about 5500ish and 35ish knots (~65-70lph)

35 knots is quick stuff comes at you fast at that speed, plus it costs a fortune in gas!

kingfisher 1825 yammy 115hp 43 @ 6000rpms standard yammy 3 blade K series aluminum semi cleaver prop. does about 6mpg at cruise.

16' K&C with Yamaha 60- 4 stroke

wide open by myself will do 26 knots ( 30 mph)
I don't like to run the motor wot for more than a few minutes, if that.

26knots with a full load and a tailwind. 75 merc 4s merc. 7 gal/h. 18knots @ 3.5 gal/h
19 foot klamath gtx.
:)

2019 Hewescraft Searunner 190 with Yamaha 150, 60 gal. of fuel and two people WOT 38 knots, cruise around 28 knots @ about 4200 rpm approximately 9 gph.

I love all this speed and HP so if you need a chuckle here's my fishing machine ,,,a real beast.

21ft Ranger Tug
30HP Volvo Penta 3 cylinder diesel
"FLAT OUT" speed, no wind and no current---Wait for it...............9.5 knots.
Fuel Burn---to and from my fishing grounds,,trolling for 4-6 hrs a day,,2-3 times per week--$40-$50 a month.
As you can imagine many of you pass me going to and from the fishing grounds. LOL
But I still love my little boat. Retired and nothing but time to enjoy my time on the water.
