Weird marks

Anyone know what these marks on this chinook are? My son caught it off Cree today

Yeah, I have seen these marks occasionally. They look artificial but apparently occur naturally as the fish matures and becomes ready to spawn.

Chromatophore I think. Like a birth mark. Eat it.

Its normal. Caused by a genetic pigment. Google it. There is a study on it from Washington about it. It's also been on forum before...
