Vinyl boat numbers

I need to remove the vinyl boat numbers off a fibreglass hull. Without heat I can't get them off. Does a hair dryer do the trick ok or will the numbers still break up into tiny pieces when trying to peel them.

thx

see peahead if you bought a trophy you could use a heat gun on it( as your comment on another post )

But the cheap gel coat would come off with it

You dont need much heat as its a finesse thing just the right amout as to not melt it and to cold to make it brittle. After its off use a good solvent to get rid of the left over glue then get a ggod cut wax, then clean it up followed by a second coat of finishing wax and buff.

good luck wolf
