I’m heading to Vic this weekend from Campbell River.
My 14 year old is full into fishing this year and I am trying to keep him interested.
Can you all recommend some places we can go this time of year and catch some fish?
He has heard about carp and bass possibly?
Any help appreciated.

Durrance is a little lake with lots of fish an a pleasant atmosphere. Langford Lk. Has good fishing with large trout (& bass) potential but is surrounded by active construction and roads.

We can fish from shore at Durrance?
With a shot at success? Looks like nice weather on Saturday.

There’s a fishing dock at Durrance lake. Elk lake also has one. Your chance of catching is likely higher at Durrance.
Power bait fished on the bottom is a good choice.

If you have not already been or plan on coming back to Vic check out Look Out lake on triangle mountain. Easy access and small but really deep lake. Trout can be tricky but it holds some good fish. I would check out the fresh water fisheries site to see what lakes have been recently stocked.
