Trip to Ukee

Hey everyone,

Will be heading to Ucluelet the second week of August and was wondering if anyone could hook me up with a few pointers for fishing the area? I have never been there so am looking for any pointers people are willing to share.

Research this forum....read the fishing reports, The marina is in the center of town managed by Steve and on a first served basis. Fishing is rewarding in Ukee, the locals are friendly, the fuel dock guys are great, bring your crab traps and make sure you pay attention to the weather. Our favorite place to fish is probably big bank for its consistency, It is 26 miles from the Harbour. There are so many good places to salmon fish right outside the Harbour that you really never need to go out that far. Fishing is on right now

Depends on what your expectations are. Most guide boats need to limit-out 3-4 people so the Big Bank is popular. That time of year I would investigate Southwest Corner, Hyson/Starfish, Little Beach, Wya Point area. If you have a CHIRP fish finder I would hit different spots until you mark bait and/or Salmon. When fishing offshore, I always like to run one rod on the bottom.
