Tow Vehicles?

Anyone who would add there 2 cents to this question about what you are using for a tow vehicle would be greatly appreciated! I'm looking at a F-150 Super Crew 4x4. I need at least a V8 and It needs to be able to tow at least 6000lbs. I would appreciate any input on different types of trucks and SUV's and there towing power, gas mileage and reliability! Thanks SW Cowboy

I do the Fishing, God does the Catching!

Why go with the 150 if your towing a Grady, you should be looking at the 350 diesel. Sounds like you got money to burn, go with the Big Boys Truck!!

Funny thing... I was gonna say anything but a Chev. But, let's not turn this into a pissing match over brands. The diesel suggestions make sense (no matter which of the big three you go with).

What's a new diesel going to cost???????

My F150 (with a factory towing package) is rated to pull 6500 pounds, although I wouldn't try to pull that much weight very far.

An F250 (or any 3/4 ton pickup) would pull lots.

In any event, you can get all the numbers about towing capacities off the net, especially the dealer info on new trucks.

I would think a 4x4 model is a given.

And if money were no object (...hmmmm) this would be great fun<img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>.

Remember, it's called "fishing," not "catching."

If you have the money, go with a 3/4 ton (minimum) diesel. I wont state any brands, as that might start a useless pissing match with people.

Sharp hooks and full traps!

Im currently towing with a turbo volvo wagon (yes I hear the snickers), but am after a turbo diesel Landcruiser. Have to import the damn thing, but it will tow 5000 lbs and get 30 mpg around town!!
