So just a little info for you folks with tin boats. If you have bunks on your trailer make sure that you have the plastic covers on your bunks. If you only have the carpet and leave your boat on the trailer for any amount of time you will eat the metal where the boat sits on the trailer, even with the bottom paint on. Just a heads up !!!!!

first hand experience. .? What happened ? is this soley sage advice for salt water
use only..? i ve never experienced any issues but most salty rides are on rollers which was considered an upgrade for
ease of operation. .

Only to do with salt water use, not my experience but have a few friends who had this happen

I've heard that using pressure treated wood for the bunk is a problem. Apparently the chemicals in the wood and the saltwater can cause a reaction that corrodes the aluminum

Yes they use Copper Sulfate to treat that wood. Copper and Aluminum are not friends, and when they fight Aluminum usually loses.
