So, after a great response from a wide range of members, we are ready to start the vote for Thread of the Year 2018. A couple of changes occurred along the way. First, @Dave H withdrew his name from the voting, even after I tried to convince him otherwise. Based on the fact that his Tyee Pool thread is an annual event, we understand his humble stance to withdraw but we, of course, want to acknowledge his contribution of one of the most loved threads on the forum every year. As you can tell from the many responses in the previous thread Dave, your stories of the Tyee Pool events are must read for many of the members here.
The second change was the close numbers of other threads that were nominated for this award. Given that bit of information we have decided to add two more threads to consider when you vote and we also added a third prize to the pool. Scotty has donated a Striker Rod Holder for third prize.

Maybe there should be bonus points for most views and comments in a two month span lol. ;)

how is that dingy thread not winning by a land slide.

Sharp hooks stories are always much appreciated and I enjoyed nogs thread as well but that dingy build in a condo? That's awesome.

I really enjoyed the juxtaposition.

Most contenders showed the beauty of our natural environment, trips of a lifetime that we may only dream of.

Then there is the cramped condo in the middle of a city, bunnies on MEK, random shots of old stock and no exit plan!

OMG, somehow I had missed that thread completely! I judged a book by its cover so to speak - did not see how Half a New Dinghy would be of interest to me whatsoever. I binge-read it yesterday and died laughing. One, we have all been there to some degree and two, what an amazingly beautiful build. The other threads were awesome but after reading yesterday, I changed my vote!
