I plan on fishing the stamp this week and was wondering what the best way to get there is? After coming over the hump should i go into downtown port then turn up beaver creek road? Go up that then take the roads off beaver creek to the river? Also is the gun club on beaver creek road?

Gun Club-turn left off beaver crk. onto mackenzie and follow it all the way down. Make sure you sign in there before you go fishing.

The Bucket: Go down Beaver Creek Road out of town towards the Stamp Falls Park. Watch for a series of signs on the right side of the road - one will note the Sporting Club's Gun Range. Turn left off Beaver Creek, then right into the rifle range. Parking on the left side. Hit the river and go about 1/2 mile or so upstream. Will most likely be folks there fishing.

Alternatively: Go out on the highway towards Uccy. Turn right off the highway towards the airport. When you come to the split in the road, take the turn to the right instead of towards the airport. This takes you down to Star Shingle Mill. You MUST report in to the office and pay your $ 10.00 parking fee, or your truck WILL be towed out on your dime. Once you've paid, head down the road out behind the mill. You'll hit a blocked section of trail, with a right turn leading down towards the water. Take this turn - there are several spots to pull over and park. Don't go down the hill to the bottom unless you have a capable 4 wheeler. Walk upstream about 1/4 mile.

The Slide: Out on the highway to Uccy, turn off on the airport road. This time take the left turn to the airport at the split. Follow the road right around the airport and into the gravel extraction site. Go through this on the barely discernable trail, right down to the bottom where the road will turn into the bush. Follow the road for about 2 - 3 miles. There will be a pull-out spot and a road leading down the hill towards the riv. Don't go down the hill with your rig unless it is a powerful 4-by-4!!! Walk down the hill and you are on the slide. Good area there, and several spots below. Last I heard, there was about 35 trees down on that road, and I haven't been in to assess the situation. Might want to take a power saw to gain access.

Man I certainly hope the traffic in the fish department picks up! a LOT of anglers out yest, seven of us in one crew alone attacking the Bucket area for nada 'cept a single LL release. Several cases of wobblies were however successfully battled, and the overall mood was downright festive. Of all those we shared a flowside BS with, none had anything to hand, and one of the jets noted but two for the 3 good rods onboard. Looking like the run pattern of the last three years is likely unfolding the same again this.

In reference to the post regarding access:
- The Shingle Mill is seeing a lot of traffic, and the owner and his foreman are being downright diligent in ensuring only vehicles they've authorized are in. Others have been towed! There's two crews camped on the flats, and the Hippy Shack is full of partying anglers too. Both groups are hitting it hard and early, and planning on a week and change of residence time. If you do enter the fray here, DON"T go all the way down the hill unless you've got a great winch - the hole at the bottom has become very HUNGRY!
- The Falls: If anything the falls pool is even busier than the Mill! The Natural and his rotating crew have taken up their annual pre-dawn residence, and the only way to get in on it is to arrive before 4:00 AM and shiver in the dark for a few hours! Not in the cards for these tired old bones anymore!

Hoping the action picks up soon, but thinking it will likely be a mid-month show...

Tight Lines Folks! Best of luck out on the flows!
