I have the same hull (except mine has a bow well) and I have a 90VMAX. not a bad deal if the hull has been maintained.

fast enough!

The limiting of your speed on most days won’t be the motor but rather the chop.

Top speed 35-40 depending on prop, cruise mid-high 20's.

Iv got the same motor on my 17 SS and its plenty of power. Not winning races but gets the job done nicely. No issues loaded as heavy as I'll ever have it with 3 guys and 4 nights worth of gear on the run out to winter harbour last year. 25kn cruise 33+ top. If it can get me up on my wakeboard this summer I won't be repowering with a 115

If a 90 wont do it.. go with a 140

My 18 ft. Carmanah came with a 115hp lots of power. I think a trade up to a newer 115 would be a good idea.

Add a 2ft rubber phallus the bow and call it a 20ft loa. Should be good for another 10k.
