Shrimping near Sooke

I wanted to try shrimping around sooke this year. Does anyone have any info as far as timing?Rough Location? I believe they are coonstripe shrimp? What kind of traps do you use?

I see people fish just off east and south east of pedder bay. From what my friends tell me its not as easy as Brentwood Bay area. You need to make sure to have a good amount of weight/anchor if possible on the line. Currents may take your gear so have at least an extra 100ft of line for the area you plan to drop it in. Timing wise look at currents based off race rocks. Aim to drop your trap just before slack tide and pick up just after.
