VICTORIA AND AREA SPORTFISHING ADVISORY BOARD MEETING

The Victoria and Area Sport Fishing Advisory Board (SFAB) Committee will be holding their usual post season meeting in advance of the South Coast and main board fall meetings. This small local meeting will occur in the afternoon on Thursday Nov 14th.

ATTENTION LOCAL ANGLERS: PLEASE ATTEND THE SPECIAL SVIAC TUESDAY NOV 12th @ 7:30 PM MEETING & PROVIDE INPUT TO YOUR SFAB REPS!

Due to changes made by DFO in the local SFAB Committee meeting format, the broader angling community are no longer able to participate in local committee meetings due to lack of DFO funding for meeting room rental plus Vancouver Island DFO not wanting the open room meeting format where 100 plus anglers attended; It is a great shame as the format worked so well for years.

Victoria’s local SFAB committee chairs Tom Cole and Chris Bos, still want all interested local anglers to have an opportunity to participate in the much respected SFAB grassroots process before the local and South Coast SFAB meetings occur. Interested anglers will still have that chance.

Please be advised there is a meeting on Tuesday Nov 12th at 7:30 p.m. in the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, Langford, where South Vancouver Island Anglers Coalition (SVIAC) are welcoming anglers to come and hear a report from their local SFAB representatives. Participants are also being asked to share their opinion on how the 2013 halibut season was managed and to provide feedback on how the 2013 Fraser Chinook regulations effected them.

There is no entry fee. Everyone welcome. For more information visit: www.anglerscoalition.com<o:p></o
