Project Double Trouble!

Nice set up steely. Was gonna mention that I had issues with my 9.9 being plumbed into my main fuel tank and so did several others that I know of. I see from the photos your using a day tank, did you end up not tying into the main fuel? Like that inside, glad to see you took out the seats beside the dog house, looks good. What up with the swim grid, great spot for the big cost co cooler and day tank. How is the head height working out? Looks like it catches fish nicely.

Ya we hadnt plumbed the kicker into the main yet in those pics yet but its all done now. No issues either. Swim grid still is in the works just got too many things going on right now lol. Head height, well... Lets not talk about that lol.

PM sent to you Steely dan

LOL. Took me 2 days to get up the courage.
I know right. Bet theres a tube of 5200 on the threads!

This thread is going a bit backward but here are some of the pics of the rebuild. I got some sent to me from my partner in crime. Just look at all that water logged foam! A sawzall with a 12" blade and a pry bar made short work of it. Was able to remove huge sections at a time. And there is the B60 transducer that I was scared shitless to install!

I am impressed!

Thanks fellas. We're pretty happy with how everything turned out. We started in april and finished in august of 2013. Might strip it down in a year or two or three and repaint the exterior hull but we'll see. As is, id say she's good enough for the girls that we go out with!! Lol

Very sharp! Nice work! It's a nice feeling when it all comes together at the end. You know now you have a solid boat underneath you. And for their size they are one of the biggest little boats around!

really, really nice workmanship. that boat will be fishing for many more years and will be a treat to fish out of,

Where did you get the DE stickers on the hull? Any more details on the seats and boxed underneath...
Looks great BTW

Thanks! Love the double eagles just hate the inboard...

Thank you sir!

Interesting seats. Where did you find those?

Got the seats from here http://www.ebay.ca/itm/130609948261?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I built the boxes out of marine grade ply and wrapped them in vinyl and I had the DE decals custom made

Radar Arch

So I have a radar arch in the works... I picked up what used to be a wake board tower on a 176 double eagle and Im retrofitting it into a radar/fishing arch. Chopped off 14" in height, adding 7" in width, adding radar pad, and a shitload of rod/net holders. Its still in the works. My argon tank ran out tonight... almost there though

WOW. That boat looks sharp. And those seats....how do they ride? Do they bottom out at all. I suspect they are very stiff which is what is required. Please tell me how those seats are working for you.

here it is for a test fit on the boat after I chopped some height off it

Thanks man! I swore after pretty much breaking my tailbone in my last double eagle that I would be going suspesion seats in the new boat. So far love em. Ive yet to bottom them out, Im 205lbs though. There adjustable up to 350lbs and got them cranked to 300 at the moment.

OK so I finished up the arch today. Turned out pretty good for $650 total investment. $450 for the wakeboard tower, $130 materials, $50 paint, $20 misc welding supply's... Looking back I feel like I should have masked off the pipes on the rocket launchers. I kind of liked the look of the plain aluminium for contrast. I might sand them and hit them with some silver or gold hammered paint...

Please excuse the mess lol
