The Point Holmes Recreation Association (PHRA) manages the small boat ramp and park on the Lazo Road waterfront in Comox. 2017 is our 50th Anniversary, the ramp was first built in 1967 as a Centennial Project. I am very happy to see the ramp still operating and improving every year. It is a small ramp, (actually not that small as it is over 600 feet long out to the tip which is somewhat usable at a 2 foot tide) , not much good for boats over 18', no good in a SE, or at extreme high or low tides. That said, it is a wonderful community operated ramp, and membership is only $35 / yr.
To Celebrate, we are hosting an Open House / BBQ / Fathers Day Raffle in the afternoon of Saturday June 17, 1-5 pm, everyone is welcome. First Prize is a full-day charter with Cliff's Chinook Charters out of Comox, Second is a 4 Burner Broil-Mate BBQ, and here are some images of Prize # 3, a custom engraved PEETZ 5" Evolution Artist Series Reel! The new Evo reels have an upgraded one-way drag, saving your knuckles!
Tickets are now available at Cape Lazo Campground store, Gone Fishin' (Courtenay), Tyee Marine (Courtenay), and Wade's Autoworks. Over $3,000 in raffle prizes, you do not need to be present to win, but lots of door prizes for those that come out to enjoy a hotdog !
