Online retailer for gear?

My tackle box is looking a little empty and I want to pick up some staples like 30 & 40lb mono, swivels, clips, downrigger cable (stainless), single and treble hooks, beads, etc...

What do people recommend for online retailers?
I normally shop at trotac or wise buys but it'd be nice to shop sitting on my butt and have it come to me. Plus, maybe some cheaper deals out there!

you could check out amazon.ca although amazon.com will prob have better deals though. but shipping across the border with dotcom would prob be quite a bit. cabelas gave a few of us pretty good deals on some scotty equipment awhile back...
I'm sure others will have better ideas than me on this subject though... have gotten some good deals on ebay in the past for fishing equip....

I get your rationale but go to your local store and keep your money working at home. Firstly every dollar spent at home has a 4 to1 economic multiplier effect, so ultimately that is more jobs for your kids ect. plus if we dont support our local guys and they go out of business, how would that affect our local sport fish industry?
Personally I'd rather have the local guys to BS with when I buy my gear. When was the last time you swapped a fishing story with Amazon?

I like where your heads at. But.... I went to Sea-Run for some braid for my downriggers. It was $70 per 300' of 200 pound plus tax. It was $35 for the same thing at Cabelas.ca.... I'm all for supporting the little guy, but I'm not paying double.

I buy my lures, rods, bait, weights local. I shop for line, reels, bar swivels, clips and a few other things online at aliexpress.com.

I can't justify spending $5 for 10 swivels when I can get 500 of the same swivels for $10. I get line at $4-$5 a roll per 500M, the local guys sell the same knock off reels of line for $14.

I support the local guys, unless they are making a 500-1000% mark up...

Wholesale sports and Cabella's match prices also!! I got a MR# for 500 from Cabella's in Abby!!!

I cant advertise on here but keep in mind there are a lot of local businesses that do operate online stores and they are local as well.;)

Not sure if it's you Spring Velocity, but I have ordered from Super Tackle in Nanaimo, and he is a good guy to deal with.

dhgate.com is a Chinese website that has some very good deals. Shipping takes a long time though.

No not me we make all of our stuff in canada and not china. Like to keep the work here. I also support buying at local tackle places as well like Trotac in Victoria. Same as HC mid island.

I do most of my shopping here, but some times you can find items online that you can't find at home. I once ordered some hoochies that were completely different from any style available here. They worked hot dam, by the time I ran out of them I've never been able to find them again. Wish I'd totally loaded up on those while they were available. Hoochies are one item that has way more items online. It's not always about the price, but making big savings is nice too.

I probably have a thousands of items of fishing gear and 99% was purchased here. The tackle shops at home have done very well by me over the years, but I do make some online overseas purchases. It is just nice to have different purchase options sometimes.

Since Nikka is gone local options have been drastically reduced Thank God PNT is still around.

As mentioned I've found any of the Island tackle store will mail something to you just phone & ask they're all easy to do business with ditto Matt @ Super Tackle.

Haven't ordered anything from TT Wan yet but it's just a matter of time and he is local

John's & Ted's in WA state too are easy to do business with and have all the gear

If Hootchie King doesn't have it you don't need it

Looked around @ Great Lakes operation they're all stateside but have some decent prices/selection.

Just a note about online retailers. If you're on Aliexpress (and I'm guessing DHgate) Do Not Search 'spreader bar'. Just don't.

I got a couple of MR3's first week in august at river sportsman Campbell River. They were on sale for $499.00 .not sure if they still have the sale on still or not. guy gave me the second reel for 450....
thought that was a pretty good deal for new MR3's...

I tried to get wholesale sports to match on an islander mr3 (won't mention which city) and they wouldn't since they "didn't have the colour" I was looking for in stock. I thought it was a bit of a lame excuse as I've seen them bring other colours of that reel in, in the past when someone was paying full price.

Very impressed with river sportsman's selection and seem like reasonable prices on most items.
Always liked PNT (Pacific Net and Twine) also. They have a great shop up in Prince Rupert. very reasonable prices and good selection as well.... will ship anywhere.
