Rather than carry on in the SFAB - Fall Meeting thread, I thought a Cowichan thread would be appropriate.
Now, more questions than answers:
Last winter DFO trucked in some gravel to create some new silt free spawning beds, presumably on a test basis. In the spring they advertised in the local paper for volunteer counters to enumerate the hatch. I was out of the country so didn't get involved, but wondered if anybody knew how they made out?
As to the hatchery I've noticed, while driving by on the highway, a construction crane at what I believe is the hatchery site. Perhaps the rehabilitation/expansion is underway. Any details?
