Newfoundland and Labrador seek markets for seal products.

They were getting $11 per pelt in 1890, and 130 years later Newfoundland sealers get $25-30 per pelt. Pretty obvious why east coast sealers take only about 15% of their quota and and this fishery has all but died.
 
100 bucks for a sea otter pelt that’s like 3 grand today. I’m gonna guess we completely almost killed off the population.
