New Documentary - Green Energy Movement (Watch before it Gets Taken Down!)

I wanted to post this up. Very good documentary.

Keep an open mind and watch. This isn't a movie about denying climate change. It is a movie about the reality of alternative energy, and effect of human consumption.

It also shows the clear connection between big environmental movements and the link with capitalism.

This is very relevant to the things we see in our fisheries with the environmental movement. Pay attention to the Sierra club especially.

It’s a scam so brazen that an environmental fund — Green Century Funds — promoted by Bill McKibben’s 350.org turns out on examination to have less than 1 percent of its holdings in the solar and wind industry; the other 99 percent comprises oil and gas infrastructure (including tar sands); biofuels; logging companies, and banks.

Took 10 seconds to find this:

Leslie Samuelrich, president of Green Century Capital Management in Boston, said the fund invests in “no exploration, extraction, processing, refining or transmitting of coal, oil or natural gas and no utilities that burn fossil fuels or any other companies that have carbon reserves.” Factory farms are out, too. Green Century is owned by a group of environmental nonprofit groups, which accounts for its strict guidelines, Ms. Samuelrich said.

Let's see where you got your info from, because I don't ever trust known AGW deniers.

All part of my: Is the denier a liar?? This was created because so much of what deniers post turns out to be lies, half-truths, opinions and garbage, most of the time.

Sad.

Take care.

Pretty credible documentary. Again had nothing to do with climate change. That isn't point of movie.

What it shows you is that clean energy is not a clean as you think. It shows you that we as humans are stressing the environment just by population growth. It also shows the connection to big business in the green movement. You can't deny it exists.

I myself spent some time in solar industry and what was said was fairly accurate. Michael Moore usually doesn't direct BS. I encourage everyone to watch entire movie before forming opinion.

This is a great film. It have ruffled so many feathers that there is a huge lobby push to shut this film down. Watch the truth while you can. Time for folks to wake the hell up

When I saw that this doc had Mike Moore's name on it I was like I ain't watching that crap. It kept coming up in my fb feed and in a few news articles and rightfully so. Game changer.

Interesting. If anyone hasn't seen it I would get on it. They are pulling it. Josh Fox, has successfully pressured distributors to take it down. This was on public twitter feed.

It's funny it really has nothing to do with denying climate change at all. Just points out obvious things, and makes you think.

Yeah it’s odd I seen an interview a few months ago where he sits down with gretta and she praised him for everything he’s done. Bringing awareness and his past ventures in fighting climate change. Called him a pioneer

A most interesting and informative film. My only beef is the common error of blaming capitalism when the culprit is economic activity. Socialism is just as keen on mining, drilling and cutting, usually with worse environmental results.

The film is the consumption argument, It does not matter how green we go if we increase consumption every year it does not matter.

Yes. That was point.

When I have presented such argument in the past I have been attacked so I don’t find it surprising.

No one wants to talk about it because it would mean deflation and deflation is the enemy of
Capitalism.

When I’ve bought up population control or immigration you get attacked as well.

Was a half crock anyways. I’m sure they would have left it up but when it went against the Liberal agenda you had to know it wouldn’t last.

It's not political at all, so if you took that from this you missed point of movie . It is different way at looking at things. This isn't to say solar or wind isn't useful. Technology evolves every year in the industry. It just puts the question are we heading down the correct road or not.

Maybe it's better to evaluate how we consume things as society. Any way great documentary.

Im getting that this film is riding the coat tails of the Corona Virus. Im not sold on the film as a whole.
