Naming question

Hope someone can answer this...
When registering a boat at the Port of Registry, you have to submit a form, and give three choices of names. Are no two boats in Canada allowed to have the same names?
We searched the database on Transport Canada's website, and there is a boat with our first choice of name, but it is in PEI.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!!

My understanding is no two boats may have the same name, if federally registered. You may add the # 2 if your sold on your name.
