Beware of the inspection hatch in your splashwell. I had hunted high and low for where my 17' Lund was taking on water, to no avail. Didn't leak all the time and then it wasn't gallons but it needed fixing. Found the leak when I plugged the splashwell drains with plastic wine corks and then filled it with water.
Looked in from the battery compartment and water was coming thru the inspection hatch. Popped that off and surprise, no gasket. O ring wasn't looking great either. New O ring and a gasket should fix it.
I never would have thought it was the hatch. Was thinking it may have been the caulking failing.
