Jordan River Halibut

Whole in the Water

I'm thinking of heading out to Jordan River for some halibut. I've never been there before. Does anyone have any good advice on this area?<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

Sharp hooks and full traps!

I think you need to find a nice contour to anchor on, or even backtroll sometimes as it can be difficult to set up on the ledges without getting to shallow or too deep? I know of one fellow who just drifts through one spot over and over again.

There do not seem to be any peaks if memory serves, so i would'nt know where to begin. A drift alond a ledge sounds like a good idea with a decent tide. Depending on the current you could start deep and come up or vice versa. I found that salmon bellies were the killer last summer.

GL... and let us know how it goes! I would be interested in trying JR too!.
