Interview with Tom Davis: A Call to Arms Document

An excellent, common sense, practical, sustainable approach to help increase dwindling chinook numbers. DFO and their political master somehow think that by just cutting back on the commercial and public fishery (while doing very little about increasing enhanced hatchery production, habitat protection and restoration and the monitoring the unregulated in-river net fishing) that chinook populations will magically increase.

They obviously are taking the most politically expedient way out on this and it will do little to help rebuild chinook stocks, especially in the Fraser River watershed. Time to support concerned citizens and the organizations that support them in rebuilding chinook stocks - More power to you Tom and others working with you!!!

Time for us in the public fishery to start rolling up our sleeves and work together to improve this situation because it is obvious that the govt isn't going to do much to help our sector!

That’s a darn good read, both papers. That’s the first time I’ve read a clear picture and plan for recovery. Kudos to the people that put the work into this.

Let’s hope our politicians buy into to this program and get it going, they will have to if we insist on it.
