Info on Prince Rupert

Confused

Heading to Rupert this Friday. Looking for any info on how the coho fishing is progressing. Is there many halibut close in, just have a 20 ft harbercraft and wife is not too interested in going to far out.

Also heard the crabbing is slow, not too many legals. I find that hard to believe.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It's been years since we lived and fished in the area but we use to fish for halibut out of our 14' skiff not far from the Port Ed launch. We anchored in the 100-120' depth at high slack out from Kitson Island and find the holes on that big flat area. Slightly further runs would be up to Hazel Pt on Smith Island there's a hole I believe around 120' just offshore from the point. Pulled up an 80 lber one time at Greentop and Holland Rock area's. They're all very easy runs for a 20' boat. Being a pink year and August there should be halibut close in.
