19 ft klamath gtx. 08 75 4 stroke merc. 5.2 nauticle miles / gallon.

I think I could break 6 with a newer lighter motor. This one is 400 lbs. I call her miss piggy.

Hulls around 850. So id guess with motor/fuel/people/ around 1800 lbs total.

1996 Yamaha 115 2 stroke on 176 DE seems to average about 3 nautical miles per gallon at 25 knots.

My last boat was a 27' Grady White Sailfish. Bought from NY, was modified with HUGE tanks for offshore tuna fishing. $2600 to fill up both tanks!
Twin 2 stroke Yam 200's. Burnt 56 GALLONS an hour when loaded and pinned. Still went like stink - 35 knots.
My wallet appreciates the 150 4-stroke on the Double Eagle now.....

Lol i do 30 miles a gallon with my 14 ft johnboat and 9.9 merc 2 stroke, you burn a gollon just starting thise two inboards lol
It's not that bad come on lol.

I burn .00093333 Gallons per hour per pound. :)

Whats your burn/speed like on the souble eagle? What size is it?

It's a podded 18.5 DE with a 150 4-stroke Yam (used to have an inboard) and i'm not sure exactly what the burn rate is. $50 to get out to the hail grounds and back (about 4-5 miles) at around 27-28 knots.
It moves along at 32 knots at 3/4 throttle/4500 rpm. Pinned on flat water it tops out at 38 knots....
This is the boat before i outfitted it;

7000 lb Donzi with at 300 yammie. 11.7 gal an hour at 30. The boat is a Grady lookalike because Grady bought the design from Donzi in the 90’s for the 23 ft seafarer

26’ Commander with 10’2” beam. Weight is probably around 9000lbs or more. Twin 200 Suzuki’s burn around 15 gph at 30mph. I usually run it anywhere between 30-35mph at 4300-4600 rpm and get 1.8-2.1 mpg .

Podded 25’ JaxonCraft. First season with the boat and twin Yamaha F150’s. My guess is that it is around 7500lbs or so. I ran the boat mostly at 3500 rpms and 26mph and a burn of 9.8 gph. 3700 rpm is about 27.5mph and 10.6 gph. 3800rpm is 28.5mph and 12.1 gph. It topped out at 44mph and 5600rpm but can’t remember the what the consumption was.....

I'd love to be atound 22-24 feet. Small cuddy, big dance floor, cruise around 25 knots and get clost to 4 nm/gal. Wounder if its possible if i keep the weight down.

One of the reasons i havent jumped on a big glass boat.

mpg is alot more accurate for comparing fuel burn numbers. pursuit 2470 with 2015 zuk 300 gets around 2.5 mpg running 30mph in average seas, 4-5 people. Bertram 28 with twin 351 inboards is calculated in smiles per gallon :eek:
