If JT can fly to tofino for a weekend why can’t the fisheries minister fly to Alaska.

I'm not sure we would want to follow in Alaska's foot steps - ocean ranching is a very bad thing...and that is what they are up to. Their Chinook runs are collapsing BTW. Most of their Chinook catch comes from South of AK rivers based on the DNA. See page 39 of the attached forecast to see how their domestic Chinook are doing...its not pretty:

It’s not all about Chinook. Chinook appear to be struggling coast wide. The pink and chum (the focus of the ranching program) from a quick skim look to be doing well.
