I was just spit balling this idea the other night with some good buddies, since im in the Okanagan and we have Okanagan Lake which is a fairly large piece of water. I wonder what it would take to get fisheries to try and start a chinook and coho restock in the Okanagan Lake watershed. I would love to be able to just slay some big bright slabs in freshwater just like they do in ontario.
It has worked in the great lakes in ontario, and they used to be in Ok lake way back in the day from what records I could find, Until they dammed up the US side of things so they couldnt make it into the Ok lake watershed anymore..
Now they have re-introduced Sockeye into Okanagan Lake over the last 4 - 5 years and we are hoping to see that fishery open soon with good results hopefully! Im sure this would be a paperwork/logistics and overall nightmare to even start but thought I would put it out there lol
