“This week Dominic LeBlanc, announced the launch of an online public consultation to seek Canadians’ views on changes that were made to the Fisheries Act in 2012-2013 and how best to restore lost protections and incorporate modern safeguards. This initiative is part of an overall review of Canada’s environmental and regulatory processes, in accordance with goals set out in our ministerial mandate letter.
Canadians are encouraged to take part in the consultation by visiting "letstalkfishhabitat.ca", providing their input by answering questions in eWorkbooks and joining the conversation on our Ideas Forum.
The current review of changes to the Fisheries Act is being led by the House of Commons Parliamentary Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans, who will give careful consideration to feedback received through this e-consultation.
