Really frustrating trying for Hali and getting yelloweye's. Had to keep moving to try and get away from them. Do you think it would make sense to open up yelloweye at the same time as Hali? You could still open Lings in May-June but watching a yelloweye float away just doesn't make sense.

You don't have to watch them float away. You don't have to watch seagulls peck their eyes out or watch eagles fly off with them

That's no a bad option. Sad to see the eagles pass on them because they are too big.

It would still have been a couple of great feeds. I like snapper better than ling. On par with Hali.

If anyone is still "popping" the air bladder, please stop doing this method. You are harming the fish. They will adjust to the depth change on their own.

There are quite a few devices out there that are working recently for releasing these fish back to the depths. Time will still tell how effective they are. Please do not pop the air bladder before releasing. There is a good one that you hook up to your downrigger that the Alaskans use a lot as well that I will post up if I can find it.

That would be great. Back down 300' then up again would be much better with the downriggers.

Pretty neat ~ looked like a solid recovery. Could make one.. just take a release clip, maybe the smaller type fresh water ones.. slide the tension snap back so its not as strong...? clip it on the lip attach a weight drop to 70 feet and give it a good jerk...
