I noticed some gel coat raised areas size of dime. Apparently 1970 and newer moored boats its pretty common. After doing some reading I have found its blistering and generally will not cause problems even if just left. You can grind them off and patch but generall cosmetic . Any opinions......

I re-gelcoated the bottom of my boat from the waterline down because of that. Mine was probably worse than yours though. Thats really the only way to fix it properly. It involves stripping the whole bottom down to fiberglass, large job. Looks like you already did your homework on it so you already know. Good luck.

From what I have found out so far it looks like I don't have to worry about re- gel coating ....supposidly the small pimples ( dime size ) rarely cause or become more of a problem . They can be ground down just as you would with a gel coat chip, sanded filled with putty, faired and painted.
