Garmin chip

My boat came with a new 9" Garmin chartplotter but no chip was included.I see 2 on "Amazon " ,Vancouver-Dixon Entrance for $600+ or Inside-Outside Passage for $350.I've alway's had Lowrance product's so this seem's pricey to me.Do you use one of these or are there alternatives? The installed charts (without chip) are pretty good but not as accurate as I would like.

If you don't go beyond the north end of VI then you can use the cheaper of the 2 chips.

Yes,I don't plan on going north of the island and I'm looking for lot's of depth contours for halibut.

I have the VCAO18R garmin chip. Depth contours are at every 1, 3, & 6 feet depending on water depth.

I have the Garmin Homeport tool on my computer & can send you a screen shot of an area you are interested in.
