Fishing in Clayoquot Sound

I am going to be kayaking in Clayoquot Sound mid March.

I am not going after salmon.

What can I catch? What do I use as lures to catch small pan fish?

What do I use as lures to catch small pan fish?

Start with something small & dark if that doesn't work use larger flashier offerings-fish right off the bottom and along the edge of Kelp beds.

Lincod and Halibut will be closed

I have never personally fished the area but I assume you will be able to find some flounder and sole if you are able to find some sand. Both are open year round. Kelpling are another possibility if you can locate some kelp beds to fish off. They are aggressive little fish and are tons of fun to catch on light gear.
