Federal chief science advisor to investigate fish farms
https://www.nationalobserver.com/20...-chief-science-advisor-investigate-fish-farms
I am willing to accept the results are you?

It's long overdue.
The problem is bigger then only the Fraser River Sockeye.
I do hope we don't end up with a conclusion like the reason for the investigation as stated in the release...
"The new review comes after the federal Fisheries and Oceans Department served up an ambiguous assessment of the risks of a virus looming near British Columbia's Fraser River sockeye salmon. B.C. Environment Minister George Heyman also previously announced that his government had launched a review that would crack down on contaminated discharges into the water from salmon processing plants."

Hopefully Seals and Sea Lions will be addressed next!!

Wierd the first sentence reads different from the title

The Swedish Supreme Environmental Court has decided to ban and stopp fish farming in cages in open water in three places and to reduce the amount farmed in another place

Just a little bit misleading. Strange, coming from aa as his posts are nearly always factual.

It’s now official
Washington State phases out Atlantic salmon farming
https://www.undercurrentnews.com/2018/03/23/cooke-to-respect-wishes-of-washington-legislature/
The link above seems to confirm Cooks threat to appeal to NAFTA is no longer on the table.
Similar threats have been or will be made no doubt if B.C. moves in a similar direction.
“we will certainly respect the wishes of the legislature," said Cooke Aquaculture Pacific’s vice president of public relations, Joel Richardson. What was not mentioned in this statement was the firm's previous warning that it would seek to recover costs under chapter 11 of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
“The lack of fair and equitable treatment of Cooke, and the "attempted confiscation of Cooke’s $76 million investment in Washington", amounts to economic protectionism against Cooke as a foreign company, the firm has previously said.”

The story is featured in many media outlets in Canada and the USA these are a few examples..

The irony of this whole thing is it was a massive Atlantic Salmon escape that brought it about. Atlantic Salmon escaping is the least of the problem with Fish Farms.
Can’t make the Fish Farm guys happy…eh

It only says no Atlantic salmon farming, and ill remind you, they only talk about closing Atlantic farms from the beginning. There has never been any talks about just fish farms. The word "Atlantic" has been used everytime. So could you explain in more detail?

Also fog.... You said farms are full of diseases. .... Still waiting dude....

Bones - wasn't your question the first one that was asked about 7 years ago when this debate started? Wow man, stop trying to run this thing in a circle constantly....

Ya, it's been answered over and over. In Norway, Chile, Canada, USA and pretty much every other country that's ever farmed fish in open net pens, even some that don't farm fish. It's been figured out already.
Re: what diseases do Fish Farms have?

I don't really like wasting my time with you guys chasing my tail, but man sometimes you look so silly.

So. Answer it then please? What disease? You say it's answered, then you do not include the name in your answer, then go off how I'm wasting your time....

If you follow along foggin says:
LOL...that's too easy....just one example
will leave to others to help you with your memory laps and post the other diseases and parasites!

He show pictures. I'm just asking what disease this is? Hoof and fin?

Please its just a question that still does have a name. If it does then share

It's the same old same old. You ask, then studies and an names are given, real science is provided by real scientists, then you guys try to shoot holes through it. Only difference is, you guys offer opinions, not fact...and round and round we go.
If you really want to know, go back and read all the info that's already been provided. There are enough studies listed that you should be busy all weekend.

Nope no questions answered, I get told its there and I get told to read science papers but IF there is all this disease it should be just cut and dry. We found xxxx disease in samples and farms should be...... But this disease is crafty as it has no name..... Who wasting who's time again?
