Dragon Lake for a week

Was great fishing , all on flies, trolling and casting leeches .
Fish were all chunky and great fighters .
Average fish was 2 pounds , but a few over 5 were caught as well.
Biggest was 7.5 pounds .
Great trip as always .

Congrats, been ages since I fished Dragon. Used to be a regular destination in October- cast big leeches in shallow, right into the weeds and rip them out and hold on cuz the hits could be vicious and double-digit rainbows were not uncommon back in the day. Haven’t fished it since well before the goldfish infestation. Glad to hear it’s still producing fish of some size! Thanks for the report.

Talked to some locals , said they cleared a bunch of the goldfish out by shocking them .
Never saw one goldfish in 6 days ,last year we saw a bunch .

Sounds like a great trip normfish!, off to Kane valley with the little tin boat to do the same drag some big old leeches around..lots of lunkers in those two little puddles. Will post up after we get back next tuesday. Tight lines

[Totally unexpected]

So up at Kane lakes from friday night till monday blown off the lake saturday and monday, but sunday fished abot 4 hours got into 20 beauties all in the 2 to 3lb range but the wifes first fish was closer to 5lbs all trolled on leeches and wooly buggers. 2 days we woke up to snow but it was a great trip. Our 4 month old lab puppy was so awesome in the tin boat he is a natural, loved getting away even with the high winds..
